San Sebastián Festival to Honor Jennifer Lawrence with Donostia Award

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the San Sebastián Film Festival will present the Donostia Award to Jennifer Lawrence. The Oscar-winning actress will receive the prize on Friday, September 26 (Mehr 4, 1404), followed by the screening of her latest film Die My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay.

Lawrence, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2012 for Silver Linings Playbook, has also starred in films such as American Hustle, Don’t Look Up, Joy, and the Hunger Games saga.

In 2018, she founded the production company Excellent Cadaver, producing films including Causeway, No Hard Feelings, and the documentaries Zurawski v. Texas and Bread & Roses.

Die My Love, co-starring Robert Pattinson and LaKeith Stanfield, had previously premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Other films set to be screened at this year’s San Sebastián Festival include Bad Apples starring Saoirse Ronan, Hedda starring Tessa Thompson, Couture starring Angelina Jolie, and Ballad of a Small Player, directed by Edward Berger and starring Colin Farrell.

Prior to Lawrence, the Donostia Award at San Sebastián has been presented to Cate Blanchett, Denzel Washington, Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard, Pedro Almodóvar, David Cronenberg, and Ethan Hawke.
